This past June, Gender Equality Week received Royal Assent from the Canadian government and will be recognized during the last week of September for years to come. Team Nasty Women (inspired by the horrifying 2013 American presidential campaign, of course) is on a mission to help Kleos spread its impact, and push the needle towards gender equality in under-developed countries, one microloan at a time. As a group of friends trying to build and support the women around us in our everyday lives, we would like to enable all women worldwide and improve progress towards gender equality with Kleos.

Every $25 donated to the campaign page is an entry to win a private class for you and your friends at Lagree YYC.
Kleos offers microloans to those who have no collateral or credit history, yet microfinance institutions maintain an excellent rate of return. Why? The answer lies in the group lending model. Since loans are given to small groups at once and all have small, incremental payments, they are both individually manageable and collectively looked after. Since properly maintained loans offer the group access to future loans, groups work together to ensure repayment. This strategy also benefits the region as many groups are able to greatly improve the economy of a region as they are able to distance themselves from a life of poverty.
