Scholarship Recipient: OJOK DENISH
His education level was Senior Four (Secondary, Ordinary) which is the equivalent of around grade 10. He dropped out of school when a severe financial crisis hit his household and he was partially orphaned (lost his father).
His mother sustained a severe injury during a motor accident and got incapacitated which prevented her from performing her former income generating activities.
Ojok Denish was a chosen recipient for our scholarship program because his brother is a Kleos microloan recipient. He started the Motor Vehicle Mechanics program at Layibi Technical College a few months ago.
Scholarship Recipient: AOL SARAFINA
Her education level was Senior Six (Secondary, Advanced) which is the equivalent of grade 12. She initially dropped out of school due to a lack of finance for further studies as her mother got widowed & had no source of income. She then lived with her debilitated grandmother who could not pay her fees further.
Aol Sarafina was a chosen recipient for our scholarship program and started her Motor Vehicle Mechanics program at Layibi Technical College.
Our 1st scholarship program is just the beginning for Kleos’ pursuit of education as a cornerstone of sustainable development, with plans to continue offering scholarships every semester going forward.
